Heritage extensions

This is a very traditional property located in Letchworth Garden City which is the first Garden city in the country. In this town they have a strict regimented planning system whereby not only are you required to obtain Planning consent but also Heritage consent from the local governing body. Due to our experience of working in the area, we were appointed to work on this project from the outset to initially gain Planning and Heritage consent for an in-keeping rear extension to maintain the character of the existing house but also renovate the property for modern living.

During early conversations with the clients, we advised that the house had had several other additions and alterations overtime which had not previously obtained consent and were not in-keeping with the original property. We advised that we could address these areas to improve the general appearance of the property which the clients were very much in favour of undertaking. After a number of applications with the planning and heritage advisors we obtained all approvals for these works.  This followed with a full interior refit of the property due to the house needing a full schedule of internal and external repairs as required from the clients to bring it up to modern standards.

We are very pleased with the outcome of this project; this property now sits comfortably in an attractive road in Letchworth and provides modern day living for the family.
